Our Story

DSC_1867.jpg

Warehouse 66 Music in historic downtown Waynesville, MO began in late 2016 when Chris and Rachel Potts took the leap into business ownership and bought the building where Route 66 Music had been for the previous 10 years. Their vision for an industrial-style showroom, expanded inventory and business hours, and a focus on music education and entertainment led them to remodel the building and expand the existing services.

Soon after opening, Brice Shelden joined the W66 team as an instructor and he quickly caught the vision Chris and Rachel had for the store and its place in the community. In 2018, Brice’s love for music, both performing and teaching, and his desire to help grow the business led him to become a business partner.

As lifelong residents and graduates of Waynesville, Chris, Rachel, and Brice know the town, the people, and the area's needs and hope to fill that want for a strong local music presence in the community. Their desire is to help music lovers of all ages and all skill levels by providing a local shop where musicians can get the instruments, equipment, and instruction they desire. Beyond music lessons given by private instructors in the store, they hope to provide music classes at daycares, special sessions for home school groups, and expanded hours for one-on-one instruction.

Lovers of live music, Chris, Rachel, and Brice also want to help promote our local musicians and bands, bring in more tourism through concerts and community events, and assist with theatre needs and recitals.

Anyone is welcome to stop by, plug in, and try out any of our instruments. You are more than welcome to jam!
